Formula1.com 2011 is the official application of the current F1 season. The app offers live timings, track information, news and championship standings.
The main thrust of the Formula1.com 2011 app is to give you real-time race information, so you can follow each event live. The Live Timing section displays data for each driver, showing positions, lap and sector times, and speeds. There's also live text commentary so you can get an overall picture of the race. Unfortunately, Formula1.com 2011 doesn't offer any live F1 audio commentary, however.
Click on the Track Data tab in Formula1.com 2011 and you'll be able to see all manner of information about the current conditions out on the circuit. You can check the air and track temperatures, humidity, air pressure and rainfall, as well as the wind speed and direction. This is great for serious F1 fans, as it provides you with the kind of information you won't normally get when watching on TV.
Other features of the Formula1.com 2011 app include a race calendar, latest standings and the ability to get news alerts sent as notifications. There's no news section built into the app itself, though. The application is also lacking in driver and team profiles.
Note, that in order to use Formula1.com 2011 you need to fill out a registration first, which is a bit annoying.
Formula1.com 2011 is great for live tracking of races, including practice sessions and qualifying. It's just a shame there isn't more to do in the app in-between races.
